NATIONAL TOPIC OF THE WEEK  •  March 4 - 10

Tragedy:
How Does America Respond?

When tragedy strikes, as it did recently in Parkland, Florida, America responds with an outpouring of love and support. And then the media and politicians step in.

What motivates the strong reaction to such tragedies? Is it pure political opportunism, as both sides ascribe to each other? Does the media sensationalize coverage to drive readership? Or is it pent up anger and frustration that we, as a country, have not yet done the “right thing?” And is social media the proper forum for activists, victims or the President to speak out?

What is the appropriate response to tragedy? Should it be constructive, or cathartic? How should America respond?

Join us on Sunday, March 4th, as we explore these questions and more.
